Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and we've set our sights on powering every television in the world. Roku pioneered streaming to the TV. Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem. We connect consumers to the content they love, enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences, and provide advertisers unique capabilities to engage consumers.

From your first day at Roku, you'll make a valuable - and valued - contribution. We're a fast-growing public company where no one is a bystander. We offer you the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world while gaining meaningful experience across a variety of disciplines.

About the team

The Advanced Development team pushes the boundaries beyond product lines to build genuinely new things. We think independent of standard shipping cadences and timelines, working on foundational technologies that could impact every Roku device in the future and on ideas that no one’s seen in their living room.

Because this is an exceptional team, we are seeking exceptional talent. Everyone here is an expert but without the myopia of over-specialization. They have the technical expertise to let them see the bigger picture but can still go deep into the minutia, pushing back against convention and building something singular and new. They foster a strong sense of collaboration and trust with little room for drama. Together, this is a team of people who love to make decisions and own those decisions.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our Advanced Development group in Cambridge.

This role is at the forefront of innovation, developing cutting‑edge EdgeAI products that redefine what's possible. You'll be instrumental in driving the delivery of new products for both internal and external use, helping engineering prioritize and focus. With a variety of projects on the horizon, your work will go wherever innovation takes us, across diverse platforms such as RokuOS, Mobile, and cloud solutions. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone eager to learn and master different technologies across Roku’s business.

What you’ll be doing

You'll define the vision for our cutting‑edge EdgeAI internal and external products, driving the strategic roadmap for engineering teams. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role for someone who thrives in an environment where innovation meets engineering excellence. You’ll collaborate with a world‑class team of designers, engineers, and researchers, contributing across the entire lifecycle of ideating, building, and optimizing next‑generation intelligent experiences.

We’re excited if you have

  • Hands experience driving product outcomes through product management or other roles spanning customer engagement, operational execution, and cross‑functional leadership
  • Proven ability to define and deliver cross‑platform user experiences that span hardware and software
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams, translating product vision into practical, scalable implementations for complex features.
  • A data‑driven mindset, comfortable with experimentation and hypothesis‑driven iteration to deliver delightful, low‑friction UX.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with a track record of aligning engineering, design, and business stakeholders.
  • A solid technical background (professional or personal).
  • Experience launching AI/ML products or features.

Our Hybrid Work Approach

Roku fosters an inclusive and collaborative environment where teams work in the office Monday through Thursday. Fridays are flexible for remote work except for employees whose roles are required to be in the office five days a week or employees who are in offices with a five day in office policy.

Benefits

Roku is committed to offering a diverse range of benefits as part of our compensation package to support our employees and their families. Our comprehensive benefits include global access to mental health and financial wellness support and resources. Our employees can take time off work for vacation and other personal reasons to balance their evolving work and life needs. It’s important to note that not every benefit is available in all locations or for every role. For details specific to your location, please consult with your recruiter.

Accommodations

Roku welcomes applicants of all backgrounds and provides reasonable accommodations and adjustments in accordance with applicable law. If you require reasonable accommodation at any point in the hiring process, please direct your inquiries to .

The Roku Culture

Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast‑paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We’re independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you’ll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV.

We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem‑solvers, which itself is a two‑part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn’t real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.

How to Write an AI Job Ad That Attracts the Right People

Artificial intelligence is now embedded across almost every sector of the UK economy. From fintech and healthcare to retail, defence and climate tech, organisations are competing for AI talent at an unprecedented pace. Yet despite the volume of AI job adverts online, many employers struggle to attract the right candidates. Roles are flooded with unsuitable applications, while highly capable AI professionals scroll past adverts that feel vague, inflated or disconnected from reality. In most cases, the issue isn’t a shortage of AI talent — it’s the quality of the job advert. Writing an effective AI job ad requires more care than traditional tech hiring. AI professionals are analytical, sceptical of hype and highly selective about where they apply. A poorly written advert doesn’t just fail to convert — it actively damages your credibility. This guide explains how to write an AI job ad that attracts the right people, filters out mismatches and positions your organisation as a serious employer in the AI space.

Maths for AI Jobs: The Only Topics You Actually Need (& How to Learn Them)

If you are a software engineer, data scientist or analyst looking to move into AI or you are a UK undergraduate or postgraduate in computer science, maths, engineering or a related subject applying for AI roles, the maths can feel like the biggest barrier. Job descriptions say “strong maths” or “solid fundamentals” but rarely spell out what that means day to day. The good news is you do not need a full maths degree worth of theory to start applying. For most UK roles like Machine Learning Engineer, AI Engineer, Data Scientist, Applied Scientist, NLP Engineer or Computer Vision Engineer, the maths you actually use again & again is concentrated in a handful of topics: Linear algebra essentials Probability & statistics for uncertainty & evaluation Calculus essentials for gradients & backprop Optimisation basics for training & tuning A small amount of discrete maths for practical reasoning This guide turns vague requirements into a clear checklist, a 6-week learning plan & portfolio projects that prove you can translate maths into working code.

In reality, many of the strengths that come with ADHD, autism & dyslexia map beautifully onto AI work – from spotting patterns in data to creative problem-solving & deep focus. This guide is written for AI job seekers in the UK. We’ll explore: What neurodiversity means in an AI context How ADHD, autism & dyslexia strengths match specific AI roles Practical workplace adjustments you can ask for under UK law How to talk about your neurodivergence during applications & interviews By the end, you’ll have a clearer picture of where you might thrive in AI – & how to set yourself up for success.
