We have a fantasticsecondment opportunityfor an experienced and motivated Lead Occupational Therapist (7) in our Redbridge HASS community therapies services. The successful applicant will be responsible for the management, oversight, supervision of the team and their clinical cases. They will lead and work collaboratively with the Leadership team on transformation and quality improvement projects that focus on enhancing the Therapy provision, the therapeutic offer, the overall operational and clinical management. They will be responsible for complex patient cases to provide specialist OT / Physio assessments and interventions. The post holder will support their leadership colleagues and the service lead and be an effective team member whilst working on OT initiatives. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively support and liaise with other health and social care professionals and agencies. They will lead and advocate for the occupational and physio therapy role in transformation projects ensuring AHP OT / physio leadership is recognised trust wide.

Main duties of the job

·To be actively involved in the day to day running of the CHSCS therapy team

·Networking with other multi-disciplinary, statutory, private and voluntary organisations, users, carers and assisting in managing the interfaces between them

·Recruitment and selection

·Plan and provide local Induction and ensure trust induction standards are met

·Workload prioritisation &planning within team

·Review and amend as appropriate clinical priorities, balancing patient related and professional demands, and ensure that these remain in accordance with the service policies

·Providing regular supervision and performance management

·Deputise for the team manager and or Locality Lead as required

·Support the team manager in the effective management of the resources including all pay and non-pay expenditure, ensuring that accountability can be demonstrated for all financial actions

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

·To assess the therapeutic needs of a defined client group, plan and implement client centred interventions, evaluate treatment in order to measure progress and ensure clinical effectiveness.

·To use patient / client medical and social information as part of the therapy process.

·To use and handle specialist equipment for assessment and treatment purposes.

·To practice and promote best evidence-based practice and participate in specific clinical audits in CHSCS.

·To allocate clinical and administrative work appropriately to support staff and monitor outcome.

·To maintain accurate contemporaneous records on all aspects of the treatment process and client / patient contact.

·To act as a resource for other CHSC clinicians, support staff and students, ensuring own actions promote quality.

·To participate in clinical meetings and patient / client case conferences, presenting detailed specific professional information.

·To apply a level of understanding of the effects of disability and its effect on the client / patient, carer and wider community.
