About the Team

The Technology Advisory team, part of the broader Technology and Digital team comprising over 100 technologists, provides advice and guidance to clients across a broad range of areas, but with a particular focus on technology strategy, transformation and technology due diligence support.

We work closely with clients to understand their unique set of digital opportunities and challenges, providing tailored and strategic advice and guidance. We support our clients in assessing, building and managing their technology and digital capabilities, from ensuring projects deliver genuine value through to mitigating potential risks as they move towards a more mature technology posture.

  • Retail and Consumer products organisations.

Joining the team as a Technology Advisory Manager, you will be working directly with the leadership team in Technology and Digital Advisory, as well as overseeing a rapidly expanding team, delivering a range of technology advisory services to our clients and actively supporting our business development and growth activity.

You will also gain experience in the following range of technology services:

  • Emerging Technology (e.g. Artificial Intelligence)
  • IT Partner and Product Assessments and Selection Support
  • IT Resilience Assessments (Business Continuity Management and IT Disaster Recovery)
Responsibilities

The prime role of a Technology Advisory Manager is to lead and deliver projects, and also to provide support with business development activities.  As a Manager you would be in a key client-facing role managing all aspects of the project lifecycle; inputting into sales or ‘business development' process, by project planning and budgeting; then in delivery coaching and upskilling team members, overseeing fieldwork and reviewing and producing deliverables for the client.

Your will responsibilities include:

  • Involvement in all aspects of the advisory sales cycle including business development and lead qualification, scoping and budget setting, engagement management and creation of deliverables;
  • Working with numerous stakeholders, both externally with our clients and internally with our firmwide colleagues;
  • Providing analysis and recommendation in line with client strategies, communicated in clear and concise business language;
  • Demonstrating subject matter expertise across various advisory domains (e.g. Enterprise Architecture, Digital Transformation, Cloud) and understanding how this translates into relevant and leading industry-based practices;
  • Managing the coordination and communication of key findings and results of engagements, producing written reports and supporting oral presentations to senior client management and key senior stakeholders;
  • Ability to adapt delivery style between pure advisory engagements and risk-focussed engagements delivered through the internal audit channel;
  • Driving innovation and proactively pursuing emerging technology trends;
  • Managing and mentoring staff assigned as members of engagements; and
  • Contributing to the development of new services, approaches and methodologies.
What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who has a genuine passion for technology, with an ability to ask challenging questions in the technology and digital advisory area and provide compelling recommendations that make a real difference to our clients.  An individual who is keen to help us sustainably grow our business and keen to get first-hand experience in working in multiple industries with companies who need our help.

We will support you every step of the way via coaching, on the job training as well as support for attaining industry professional certifications which will enhance your career in this field.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in Professional Services delivering technology and digital advisory work.
  • Experience delivering engagements across the full lifecycle, from proposing through to finalising the deliverable.
  • Passionate about technology and able to demonstrate mechanisms for self-development and learning.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and working on multiple engagement simultaneously.
  • Collaborative and emotionally intelligent, able to blend in-person meetings and remote working with a willingness to travel when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop client relationships and build trust.
  • Attention to detail and excellent time and financial management skills.
  • Affinity with our values; in particular, respect for individuals, diversity, and integrity.

Training and Progression

You will develop your expertise in Technology and Digital Advisory as well as your business acumen to work with our clients to develop and implement pragmatic technology and digital solutions. The experience gained will allow you to really understand how businesses across a range of sectors operate and manage technology and digital risk.

As part of a growing technology team you will have the opportunity for rapid progression.  You will be supported by a mentor and an appraising manager to keep your career and aspirations on track.
