We’re looking for an experienced tech lead with entrepreneurial ambitions to work hand in hand with the Founder and CEO of Regeno. About Regeno Regeno is an early stage tech startup financing the transition towards more regenerative farming practices. We are on a mission to help UK farmers optimise their revenue per hectare through stacking income streams in order to increase resilience, income stability and profitability. The “first stack” that we are focusing on is how we can make it easier, and faster, for farmers to identify and access additional income from grants and schemes. Future stacks will include nature credits (carbon, biodiversity/ BNG, nutrients, water etc), impact investment, enterprises et al, in addition to opening up preferential credit and insurance solutions. The Role As part of the founding team you will be an instrumental part of shaping the product & business strategy and will have a specific expertise in ag-tech and geospatial data. You will own the tech strategy and manage day-to-day engineering execution. Looking ahead, you will be responsible for helping grow the team and set up the technical capabilities of the business for growth. Responsibilities: Leading hands-on coding, testing and delivery of our MVP- responding adaptively to the changing needs of the business and our design partners/first customers. Spearheading future hiring and development of the tech team and its culture Taking ownership of platform development, making critical informed decisions on technical architecture and strategy Working with the rest of the team to prioritise our roadmap and deliver the MVP, enabling us to test, iterate and serve our growing membership base Ensuring the systems architecture and infrastructure is scalable and can support growth Ensuring that the product continues to use best practices, utilising advances in AI / machine learning Feeding into product strategy and commercial goals to identify opportunities to quickly deliver customer value Involved in shaping the strategic direction of the business and fundraising process What you’ll bring Technical Skills & Competencies: Demonstrated experience developing complex platforms, integrating distinct data sources and models Demonstrated ability to deliver product in a tech startup environment with speed Experience of working within an agile environment Knowledge & passion of the challenges involved in developing an AgTech product, including the regulatory requirements and liaising with agronomists/researchers, would be a bonus Knowledge of the latest practices in AI / machine learning and can creatively apply them to a consumer application Experience with API Integrations to pull data from multiple sources Experience building full stack applications (for example HTML, CSS, React, Node js, Python), ideally both web and mobile applications Relevant Experience & Attributes: Background in agtech software, working with geospatial data and experience with agriculture specific datasets Product and customer focus, with an ability to prioritise the right features to drive the right value for the end user Entrepreneurial spirit, flexibility and willingness to work across a range of areas and grittiness to operate in a start-up environment Credibility in the farming community What we’re offering Competitive salary (but it’s more about the equity) Direct involvement in shaping the product's technological direction.
