We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our innovative Computer Science department in a Church of England secondary school in Ealing.

About the Computer Science Department:

The Computer Science department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared passion for fostering students' digital literacy and computational thinking skills. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from programming fundamentals and algorithms to cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

About the Role:

  • Teach Computer Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including coding challenges, robotics, and game design, to bring Computer Science to life for students.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Computer Science curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of Computer Science in students, encouraging them to explore the digital world, participate in coding clubs and competitions, and consider further studies or careers in computer science and related fields.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Computer Science education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Computer Science, with a strong understanding of programming languages, algorithms, and computational thinking concepts.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Computer Science and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Computer Science and relevant examination specifications.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Is supportive of the school's Christian ethos and values.
