Who we are looking for

SSGA (State Street Global Advisors) is looking for a talented, self-driven individual contributor SME with strong data analysis skills to join in as VP, Data Intelligence in the Technology organization to support our organization’s Market Intelligence and Predictive Analytics goals and vision. The role is based in London, located close to the global business head who oversees the Global Capital Markets group, and the Business Intelligence & analytics teams for ease of staying current with business vision and tactical asks through constant interactions with business leaders around their vision and other tactical demands. The role would need a very strong technical background in Machine Learning & Data Science, especially to generate predictive analytics as well as signals using a variety of structured & unstructured data sets using advanced tools and AI/ML models.

In this role, you will work on Market Intelligence combining Sales, Opportunities, Product Strategy, Capital Markets, Marketing for engagement etc. examples for data domains. The data set will be complex, largely will be around ETF (Exchange Traded Funds) sourced from 3rd party data sets or can be internally produced at SSGA. Examples include ETF flows, analyzing Broker dealer data packs, Market Makers or Authorized Participants data, data from 3rd party platforms, Wire houses, Registered Independency Advisors (RIAs), Primary and Secondary exchange Market data to name a few.

Skills & Experience

  • (Must have) Strong technical proficiency in Python, Spark, Databricks, Cloud based ML services, Keras/Pytorch/TensorFlow and other relevant technologies with a solid understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms, coupled with proven hands-on experience in using these technologies to solve practical business questions.
  • (Must have) Proven experience having developed and implemented Machine Learning models, tailored to address a set of specific business challenges that clearly delivered measurable business impact.
  • (Must have) Proactive mindset with a focus on identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation along with the ability to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively and translate non-technical business requirements into actionable technical plans involving scalable pipelines and models along with efficient feature engineering, data processing and analysis. (Nice to have) ETL pipeline experience or knowledge over the AWS Stack (EMR, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Glue, Redshift) (Nice to have) ETF data knowledge such as inflows/outflows and buying behavior in the ETF industry.
  • (Nice to have) Experience of using data Visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Advanced Excel, are highly desirable as several projects require presentation of data in a simple effective way.

Education & Qualifications
