About the Role & Team Performance Marketing is aninternal cross -functional team within The Walt Disney StudiosMarketing organization. The performance Marketing uses developingand maturing ad technologies to achieve remarkable data-drivenresults within auction-based or otherwise addressable mediaplatforms; they also support other paid media and marketing effortswith insights, recommendations, and innovative marketingtechnologies. Performance Marketing includes Marketing Technologyand Marketing Science who help drive innovation, as well as unitsfor Performance Marketing Strategy & Operations, MarketingAnalytics, and Marketing Compliance who ground the overall team inthe business. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to sit in theMarketing Technology Unit, to create, experiment, and innovate withnew media performance applications and automations. Youll get tounderstand the challenges of driving a highly data-driven andtechnically precise paid media strategy for a variety of titles andbrand experiences, all while using the latest technologies andtooling in the data/tech space. What You Will Do * Design and build tools that supportthe existing ad technology teams at The Walt DisneyStudios—collectively known as “the performance marketing engine”;allow the teams to scale their work, increase the rate of delivery,and make space for future innovation * Drive software engineeringand architectural best practices and standards within the team,along with a culture of engineering excellence; uphold standardsand rigor around software development, testing, deployment, anddocumentation * Provide mentorship and guidance for team members;evangelize the new tools, best-practices, and data driven decisions* Develop and enhance existing capabilities of the PerformanceMarketing Engine * Create tooling and applications that candynamically manage ad strategy configurations in a variety ofsocial and digital platforms * Collaborate with data scientists andproduct managers to rapidly iterate from prototypes tohigh-quality, production pipelines; contribute to emergingmarketing analytics projects that address pressing businessquestions from collaborators in The Walt Disney Studios Marketingorganization * Implement quality controls, monitoring, and othersafeguards to ensure optimizations are accurately and safelyapplied to in-flight ad campaigns and key business metrics arealways presented accurately * Adapt applications and workflows inthe Performance Marketing Engine to changes arising fromindustry-wide events (such as the iOS14 update or cookiedeprecation) as well as to more customary changes like standardupdates to partner APIs. * Collaborate with Studio Technology teamto ensure data fidelity and reenforce larger data initiatives atThe Walt Disney Studios * Lead efforts to design and create new andinnovative enhancements to the Performance Marketing Engine toimprove capabilities in: Categorizing and taxonomizing paid mediaefforts * Implement paid media strategies at scale across multipledigital media channels * Simplify media operations and improvingoperational efficiency Required Qualifications & Skills *Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, InformationSystems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, orcomparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience * 7years or more of related work experience * Shown experiencedeveloping well-documented applications and API-based services,using frameworks such as FastAPI (Python) or Sprint Boot (Java) *Experience with data-rich environments and a fluency with Python,Spark, and SQL * Ability to craft and own CI/CD pipelines forapplications, using infrastructure-as-code frameworks such asTerraform or CloudFormation * Experience partnering with datascience teams to bring pipelines and libraries into robust,production environments * Ability to dive deep into any technicalcomponent as well as understand and drive the overall systemsarchitecture. * Proven ability to manage multiple projectseffectively that meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment *Understanding of media and marketing, including how to definemarketing/ media KPIs Preferred Qualifications * Knowledge of adplatforms including DMPs, Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter,Innovid, LiveRamp and DSPs (Google DV360, Trade Desk, Verizon MediaGroup) * Familiarity with front-end software development, includingJavascript and frameworks like Angular or React * Knowledge ofDatabricks and AWS Cloud Services * Knowledge of digital adserving, tracking and implementation Disability accommodation foremployment applications The Walt Disney Company and its AffiliatedCompanies are Equal Employment Opportunity employers and welcomeall job seekers including individuals with disabilities andveterans with disabilities. The hiring range for thisremote position is $152,200.00 to $204,100.00 per year.
