To be successful as a Staff ScientistBioinformatics you will need a background in bioinformatics with aparticular focus on algorithm development biomarkers and oncology.A consummate scientific background in at least two of GenomicsStatistics Next Generation Sequencing and/or HighPerformanceComputing will be key to your success. Depending on the level ofexperience the role may be enhanced to a Staff Bioinformaticsposition. This role may be performed in our affiliated sites orremotely in the United Kingdom or Singapore. The position requiresaccommodation to meeting times to overlap with Pacific time zonehours.

TheRole
The Staff Bioinformatics will drivethe development of innovative genomics solutions used to supporttreatment decisions based on the cancers molecular profile earlydetection and monitoring of malignancies. The primary functions ofthis position will be to develop novel algorithms for NGSbasedbiomarkers important in cancer diagnostics design and conduct dataanalysis of RD studies to demonstrate that our assays andalgorithms meet performance requirements and prototype softwareimplementations.

Responsibilities:

  • Incollaboration with our experimental and bioinformatics teams designand analyze experiments to support existing or new Illuminaoncology assays.
  • Develop and prototypealgorithms for genomic biomarkers to meet novel moleculardiagnostic needs
  • Provide technical guidance tointernal and externalcollaborators.
  • Participate in cross functionalassay and algorithm RD teams with minimaloversight.
  • Effectively communicate plans andresults across functions



Requirements:

  • PhDin bioinformatics computation biology statistics math or relatedfield
  • Fluency in at least two of statisticscommon bioinformatics methods and NGS dataanalysis.
  • Experience with developingbioinformatics NGS algorithms andmethodology.
  • Fluency in programming languagessuch as Python or C.
  • Good communication skillsto contribute to cross functional project teams and work withstakeholders.
