Software Engineer - Glasgow Responsibilities: - Todrive the evolution and deployment of Data and AI capabilitieswithin the businesses and to our customers in order to increasegrowth in orders and increased customer satisfaction. - Work withstakeholders throughout the Thales UK businesses to implementtechnology solutions that support an integrated approach to dataintegration/curation deployed across Thales UK. - Develop, test,deploy, and support software offerings into an internal catalogueof reusable/re-deployable capabilities focused around dataintegration and curation. - Interact with other data solutionsarchitects and engineers across the business working in Data andDigital. - Deliver data solutions that make up new or enhancedmarket offers. - Provide technical feedback of solutions. - DeliverProofs of Concept and act as a technical expert in DevOps solutionsused transversally throughout the business. - Be part of the ThalesUK Data and Digital Competence Centre team to ensure that thetechnology strategy, human capabilities, and opportunity pipelineis enabling the business strategy and growth. - Connect withstakeholders across engineering, Thales UK, and Group DigitalCompetence Centres thinking. Required Skills: - Experience in thedefence Industry or Aviation/Medical in relatedsoftware/DevOps/DevSecOps roles - CI/CD deployment - Softwaredevelopment and deployment in complex programmes - Strong Data andApplication understanding with underpinning Infrastructure solutiondevelopment - Technical Documentation production to a high standard- Experience working on Linux or Windows based infrastructure -Excellent understanding of modern programming languages such asRuby, Python, Perl, and Java - Configuration and managing databasessuch as MySQL, Mongo - Excellent troubleshooting - Workingknowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloudservices - Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agileprinciples - Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructureas a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, opendata, microservices, event-driven IT, predictive analytics, machinelearning, and artificial intelligence - General IT Knowledge(applications, storage, networks, IT infrastructure,Infrastructure, service level agreements, Asset managementetc)
