We are recruiting for a Senior Vehicle Performance Engineer for our Motorsport division who would be based at our St James Market Office in London. Do you have what it takes to be part of the world’s greatest sport and entertainment spectacle?

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead & contribute to project delivery within a small F1 vehicle performance research group through use of vehicle dynamics & power unit simulation and data science analysis. The goal is to progress vehicle performance & power unit research by developing & deploying simulation and analysis toolsets in the assessment of F1 – both on current & future changes.

  • Conduct simulation analysis using the simulation (including but not limited to lap simulation and DIL environments) & analysis tools available and develop new techniques in both simulation and analysis of results to further the understanding of the Motorsports Group into assessments of the current F1 and the future direction that the group is working towards.

  • Contribute to understanding and research into current and future technical and sporting regulation impacts to the core racing spectacle and F1 ecosystem.

  • Analyse, report, and present vehicle performance analysis results (and other group work results) for both internal and external review.

  • Liaison with internal and external groups that possess the tools, technology and data of interest and foster relationships with all appropriate stakeholders.

  • Maintain a positive relationship with the FIA and all F1 teams.

    About You:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in an Automotive or Simulation related Engineering Field with a high vehicle dynamics and/or powertrain content

  • Extensive experience in an appropriate vehicle dynamics / powertrain & motorsports environment

  • Ability to demonstrate practical applications and utilization of vehicle / PU performance theory and analysis of both theoretical & experimental results together with coding development of simulation and/or analytical software

  • Demonstration of delivery of significant projects / workstreams

  • Excellent knowledge and skills in vehicle dynamics, powertrains, physics, mathematics and general engineering theory

  • Ability to develop and use software code across multiple languages

  • Ability to analyse results and present concise data reports and visualisation with meaningful conclusions

  • Ability to plan and organise priorities to respect departmental deadlines

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Smart and professional with good interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a team and unsupervised

  • Positive approach to change

  • Promotes a collaborative working environment
