As the Senior Technology Advisor for the EMEA Defense Team, you will be responsible for advising and driving the technological vision, strategy, and execution for OCI’s defense initiatives across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with a specific emphasis on NATO and NATO member states. Your role will be crucial in ensuring Oracle's defense technology offerings are robust, innovative, and meet the stringent requirements of our defense clients.

As Senior Technology Strategist you collaborate closely with the sales reps and Account Cloud Engineers in EMEA, providing leadership and advice on all technology. You will work in, and sometimes lead, different teams supporting our customers in their journey to Oracle Cloud with the goal of creating a unique experience and to capture success.

Job Summary

The Strategic Technology Advisor 

• Is acknowledged as a technology authority in the domain of Defense and NATO, inside and outside Oracle with extensive customer-side technology leadership experience.

• Exudes strong presence, demonstrates superior skills to effectively manage technical complexity; uses excellent facilitation, negotiation, influencing and consensus building skills to drive diverse teams towards Oracle’s goals. 

• Demonstrates extensive knowledge and deep expertise in designing solutions for the Defense Industry and specific Defense Technology Domains (Digital and Data Centre Transformation, Data Platform, Estate Modernisation, Artificial Intelligence, Innovation, Cloud Native)

• Creates and fosters a collaborative environment, establishing and sharing best practices.

Role and Responsibilities

• Trusted technical advisor providing sales reps, Defense SME’s and customers from NATO and Ministries of Defense with enterprise technology recommendations aligned to their vision, strategy and goals.

• Produce current and future state technology deliverables linked to strategies to achieve desired outcomes.

• Articulate value propositions of proposed solutions.

• Create actionable technical roadmaps for transformation with Oracle Services or the implementation partners. 

• Support account teams in large-scale transformational and innovative opportunities

• Support “Inspire” activities in accounts to generate customer interest.

• Work in collaboration with local account teams and a broad range of other Oracle LoBs.

• Exercise creativity, independent judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to design complex business solutions utilizing Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. 

• Interact with all roles at customer – including CFO, CIO, CTO, IT Architects, business leaders, technical staff and business representatives.

• Conduct and lead repeatable strategy, architecture, roadmap and planning workshops.

• Provide assessment of current state and recommendation of future state.

• Provide roadmap and migration and implementation methodologies and identify quick wins.

• Provide non-routine and complex statements of work, work breakdown structure and/or level of effort.

• Responsible for transitioning deal knowledge to implementation team. 

• Leads the solution design aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality and integrated cross-domain business solutions. 

• Identify and evangelize key business and technology benefits of adoption.

• Positions Oracle as “the transformation partner” through consulting and wider services capability

• Play an active role as part of the technology community.

• Remain fully aware of relevant programs and assets from Oracle worldwide.

QUALIFICATIONS

• University Degree in Computer Sciences or similar IT related fields

• Extensive background as Senior Technology Advisor in a System Integrator supporting NATO, MoD’s and/or Defense Industry Primes.

• Proven technical expertise PaaS, IaaS and Digital Transformation related topics

• Holistic knowledge of cloud solutions and respective use-cases 

• Knowledge of Oracle solutions would be ideal, but not a must 

• C-level presentation and consultative selling experience 

• Flexible to travel across the EMEA region.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Wide background including architecture, implementation and delivery of large‐scale hardware and software systems in NATO, Defense and Intelligence organizations.

• 10+ year experience relevant to this position.

• Wide knowledge of IT market and trends in the Defense Sector. 

• Knowledge of full Oracle stack (ideally).

• Specific knowledge of Oracle and competitor hardware solutions is an advantage.

• Specific knowledge of Oracle database and middleware technology is an advantage.

• Detailed knowledge of technology approaches including consolidation, cloud computing, virtualization, cloud native, AI, disaster recovery, application rationalization, information management, big data, java applications, Oracle and non-Oracle applications.

• Ability to craft and articulate strategic solutions. In-depth knowledge of implementation methodologies and best practices. 

• C-level presentation experience.

• Flexible to travel across region.

• Relevant local language skills are a plus

• Prior team leadership or management experience 

• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of customer organizations.

• Ability to build rapport with team members and clients.

• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
