The shift pattern for this position is Dayshift/nightshift rotation.

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to Join the Neonatal Nursing team within the Neonatal Unit at The Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. The Neonatal Unit provides Level 2 care to patients and their families within Greater Glasgow and Clyde areas and work in collaboration with other Neonatal Units in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, providing Level 3 care.

As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will have responsibility for:

  • assessment of care needs
  • the development of programs of care
  • the implementation and evaluation of these programs
  • ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients and their families

In the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse or deputy, provide cover to ensure the effective operation of the clinical area and taking charge on shift. You must be a registered nurse, registered child’s nurse, registered midwife. Experience in the field of Neonatal Nursing, with Neonatal Nursing Qualified in Specialty is essential. You must be able to work autonomously and as part of the wider team.You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to family-centred care, continuing professional development, an understanding of our service, and the specific needs of our patients and their families.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
