What You Will Do:

Work within the development team to extend and expand upon the extensive statistical, timeseries and machine learning capabilities of the WPS software product.

Performance Areas

  • Research existing and emerging approaches for the purpose of data science through the reading and understanding of academic papers and books

  • Transfer that understanding into robust, scalable C++ coded models

  • Producing syntax and framework code from which a user of the WPS system can easily invoke, train and score the models

  • Support the wider product team regarding numerical and statistical questions that arise within the business and from customers

  • Work with the technical authoring team to aid their production of technical content

  • Work with data scientists to understand and gather requirements as they arise

  • Work across various teams to develop new ideas to solve complex business problems

What You Will Need:

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics, computer science or other numerical technical discipline

Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience writing high quality C++ code for enterprise applications
  • Understanding higher level mathematical and statistical research papers and then implementing those algorithms or methods in code in a robust and scalable manner
  • Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to the wider team
  • Familiarity with statistical, econometric timeseries. machine learning or other mathematical algorithms and their uses

Preferred Requirements:

  • Masters or PhD degree in a mathematical discipline
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in a software engineering or research environment is a plus
  • Cross-platform development experience
  • Experience with other programming languages in the data analytics and numerical space (Matlab/R/Python/SAS language)
