the role.

As a (senior) research consultant, you’ll be(come) an authority on the trends driving our industry.

Working within this role will give you insight into the most exciting developments in  life science innovation, from  medicines R&D to health equity, and artificial intelligence to health geopolitics. Often, you’ll be speaking with the senior executive responsible for making change happen, providing critical strategic insights to change our clients’ businesses for the better.

why we exist.

Let's be honest - the pharma industry is generally very traditional and doesn’t have a great reputation.

Yet the work it does is life-or-death important, and health is a very emotive industry. It could be so much better - and we want to help it get there.

Impatient Health is a catalyst for change within pharma. We connect those who believe that pharma has great untapped potential and are desperate to do things differently - and help them through events, research and strategy consulting.

Despite being young as a company (4 years), we have some incredible assets – (i) knowing everyone in the industry, (ii) having an ‘independent’ positioning, and (iii) having a well-known CEO who is a disruptor & thought-leader.

This gives us a unique platform from which to challenge others and inspire them to do better for patients.

your responsibilities.

  • Support Impatient Health’s strategy for original research in collaboration with company directors and the broader research team;
  • Undertake research that gets to the heart of client challenges and help design and recommend solutions for clients to achieve successful outcomes;
  • Conduct both  qualitative and quantitative research and use these two sources of insight in parallel to inform and develop findings;
  • Synthesise and communicate research insights and findings in compelling and immersive ways;
  • Evolve our methods, tools and techniques for research and be a support to the broader team in ensuring that our research has consistent, effective, and up-to-date methods, tools and standards;
  • Ad-hoc responsibilities as they come - we’re a small, close-knit team, which means we have the autonomy to create our own path - and rely on one another to achieve our shared goals.

about you.

  • You are a strategic research thinker; you are developing a clear set of ideas and opinions about the craft as it continues to evolve;
  • You have knowledge of a diverse range of research methods and a keen ability to distil and extract insights from qualitative and quantitative data and primary and secondary sources;
  • You have a natural ability to draw out a compelling ‘story’ behind the data and present it persuasively;
  • You are a highly effective communicator; you have the confidence to communicate research findings across all organisational levels, both internally and externally and to senior leaders;
  • You are a committed evangelist of ethical research methods and keen to ensure the practices of the research team reflect them in everything we do;
  • You are a connector and relationship builder; you're naturally charismatic and can maintain real connections with people;
  • You effectively navigate  project challenges and client communications to keep everything running smoothly.

not at all a deal-breaker if you don’t have these.

  • An understanding of strategic research methods, such as design thinking, human-centred design or workshop design and facilitation;
  • Experience working in consultancy.

you have.

  • Experience of delivering research projects in pharma, life sciences or healthcare;
  • A track record of supporting with business development and project proposals;
  • Uncommon and exceptional attention to detail;
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work towards deadlines; you’re a natural organiser who enjoys the variety that comes with juggling multiple projects;
  • A collaborative nature; you enjoy bouncing ideas off others;
  • The self-awareness to know when to ask for help and support;
  • Confidence to take ownership and work to your own initiative with little direction;
  • A capacity and willingness to challenge assumptions and offer solutions;
  • Strong business acumen; you instinctively spot strategic opportunities.

Negotiating Your AI Job Offer: Equity, Bonuses & Perks Explained

Artificial intelligence (AI) has proven itself to be one of the most transformative forces in today’s business world. From smart chatbots in customer service to predictive analytics in finance, AI technologies are reshaping how organisations operate and innovate. As the demand for AI professionals grows, so does the complexity of compensation packages. If you’re a mid‑senior AI professional, you’ve likely seen job offers that include far more than just a base salary—think equity, bonuses, and a range of perks designed to entice you into joining or staying with a company. For many, the focus remains squarely on salary. While that’s understandable—after all, your monthly take‑home pay is what covers day-to-day expenses—limiting your negotiations to salary alone can leave considerable value on the table. From stock options in ambitious startups to sign‑on bonuses that ‘buy you out’ of your current contract, modern AI job offers often include elements that can significantly boost your long-term wealth and job satisfaction. This article aims to shed light on the full scope of AI compensation—specifically focusing on how equity, bonuses, and perks can enhance (or sometimes detract from) the overall value of your package. We’ll delve into how these elements work in practice, what to watch out for, and how to navigate the negotiation process effectively. Our goal is to provide mid‑senior AI professionals with the insights and tools to land a holistic compensation deal that accurately reflects their technical expertise, leadership potential, and strategic importance in this fast-moving field. Whether you’re eyeing a leadership role in machine learning at an established tech giant, or you’re considering a pioneering position at a disruptive AI startup, the knowledge in this guide will help you weigh the merits of base salary alongside the potential riches—and risks—of equity, bonuses, and other benefits. By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of how to align your compensation with both your immediate lifestyle needs and long-term career aspirations.
