What you will be doing

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager who can help us to collect the data required to help our clients combat financial crime across the world. Today ComplyAdvantage ingests data from ten of thousands of sources, using Machine Learning and automation to extract relevant facts from structured and unstructured data.

We’re trusted by over 1,000 companies, from FinTech start ups, to high street banks, to help them identify AML risks. ComplyAdvantage has demonstrated that expert human analysts can be combined with cutting edge technology to deliver a market-leading product. With your help we can take this to the next level, capturing more data and being about to connect it together to reveal the risks that are only apparent once we’ve “joined the dots”.

To achieve this ambition we are building a new scalable platform, with reusable tools for data identification and extraction, that can serve our current and future use cases for data sources. This means building robust data pipelines and utilising Large Language Models (LLMs) without forgetting our clients’ needs for data quality and to be able to explain their decision making to financial regulators.

This is an exciting challenge for the right person to build the data ingestion machine that will help redefine what’s possible when it comes to fighting financial crime. All this at the same time as continuing to serve over 1,000 clients who rely on us to operate across the globe.

The Role

You will:

  • Own the roadmap, product strategy and vision for our data ingestion platform. You will lead a team of Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists.
  • Ensure the team delivers customer outcomes in an agile manner. You will be responsible for the full product lifecycle from strategy/vision, through to sprint planning and delivery.
  • Ensure the technical strategy is built on a clear understanding of client needs, and identify value slices which deliver client outcomes as well as take a step towards our technical vision.
  • Set the key metrics to track progress of the team towards the product vision.
  • Work closely with the wider product team and stakeholders to align on product releases and cross team priorities.

What does success look like after 3 months?

  • 1 year roadmap for your squad backed by solid market evidence and with wide buy-in across the business.
  • Your squad is using metrics agreed with the business to track the value delivered.

What does success look like after 12 months?

  • You can demonstrate how the Ingestion Platform has transformed the ability for our clients to identify relevant risks.
  • You have identified the next opportunities for data ingestion and how these contribute to ComplyAdvantage’s company goals.

The Requirements

You thrive on understanding client problems and you are deeply curious. You appreciate the challenges that come with operating in a highly regulated environment across multiple jurisdictions, and you are comfortable with the challenges of dealing with data at massive scale.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • 5+ years success as a Product Manager in delivering market-leading products where data is the product, or a significant component of the product.
  • Fluency and strong instincts for dealing with data pipelines and machine learning models:
    • You understand how to translate client needs into technical requirements.
    • You can articulate product principles and tradeoffs that help engineers, machine learning engineers and data scientists make rapid decisions with confidence.
    • You can help Data Scientists understand the client impact on choices made while training, calibrating and deploying models.
  • Empathy with customers in a B2B context.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication of complex topics to a wide audience. English language essential.

And ideally:

  • Experience of financial services or other highly regulated environments.
  • Previous Product Management experience in a rapidly growing business where ambiguity is normal.
  • Experience in anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing (AML/CFT) legislation and compliance.

About us:
