Senior Data Science Manager

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Tax – Technology to join us in Hammersmith. 

As a Senior Manager, Tax – Technology, you will manage the roadmap for use of technology within the Central Tax team as well as managing the estate of technology solutions used. Alongside this, you will deliver best practice improvements to tax compliance and reporting processes in a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment, embracing technology developments such as AI, Blockchain, Machine Learning etc.

What will you be doing? 


  • Implementing targeted process improvements within the tax compliance function, including relevant aspects of the accounting systems. These improvements may be refinements to existing processes or “step changes” in response to legislative developments, industry best practice, or specific opportunities 
  • Managing the effective introduction of automation and technology tools into the tax compliance and monitoring processes, including addressing rapidly changing legislative and regulatory requirements (including the requirements to provide Standard Audit File (SAF-T) data to domestic tax authorities
  • Assisting in effectively managing the utilisation of LG’s resources relating to tax compliance & reporting.
  • Sharing knowledge and support training as necessary to ensure finance and accounting colleagues have the appropriate level of understanding of tax compliance matters.
  • Leading the team’s Tax Technology Champions forum.
  • Owning the existing estate of technology assets and licences (including constant appraisal and challenge) and be responsible for the future roadmap.
  • Alignment with the broader LG Finance Technology team ensuring great co-ordination and transparency between Tax initiatives and the broader Finance Tech agenda.
  • Working collaboratively with wider LG Central Tax Team, sharing knowledge and experience to ensure relevant tax compliance matters are considered appropriately in the LG group context.
  • Fostering an environment in which all members of the LG Central Tax Team work collaboratively to achieve the team’s goals and objectives.

Essential: 


  • Proven track record in a large group environment with finance and technology experience. Proven ability to adapt to new environments and concepts (e.g. the world of Tax), to pick up concepts quickly and be forever curious.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to partner with peers, local operating companies, Tax leadership and the wider business
  • Ability to recognise complex issues and implications and seek assistance when necessary
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience with different technology systems & controls, ERP systems, consolidation software like Hyperion.
