Senior Machine Learning Engineer

As part of our commitment to innovation, we are excited to announce the formation of a new machine learning team focused on earth monitoring via satellite imagery. This team includes several ex-Google and ex-Amazon engineers, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to help us achieve our mission.

Job Location:Full Remote

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in testing, launching software products, and 3+ years in software design and architecture.
• 2+ years of experience in machine learning, remote sensing and development through tech machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, data mining, and model evaluation.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and Jupyter/Colab notebooks.
• Strong background in software engineering practices and version control systems like Git.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong background in working with cloud-based ML platforms (e.g. AWS SageMaker or Google Cloud Vertex Platform).
• Experience with Docker, Conda and other environment management tools.
• Experience with MLOPs design.
• Experience with open-source ML tools such as Hugging Face, Weights and Biases, and other relevant libraries.
• Proficiency with performance profiling tools such as TensorFlow Profiler, PyTorch Profiler, and TensorBoard.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources, including geospatial data layers.
• Use cloud-based ML platforms to train, deploy, and manage models efficiently.
• Construct and manage the CI/CD pipelines for machine learning projects.
• Monitor the performance and accuracy of machine learning models in production, and devise strategies for model retraining and updating.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into scalable products that drive farmer productivity and income.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
