The Tax Team is continuing to expand in response to the demands of a fast-growing business both domestically and internationally, coupled with an increasingly demanding control and governance environment. Led by the Tax Manager, who reports into the Group Financial Controller, the current team of three work closely with all business operations teams and advise commercial teams on any tax matters impacting their respective areas. Whilst predominantly UK based, the business has an ever-increasing international presence and continues to expand into new regions through legal entities, branches and additional VAT registrations. Join a Team that enables business growth 

The role will also be a key support function to the sales force and business operations teams, by providing advice on complex sales deals, customer/vendor queries and understanding the tax implications of routes to market, staff expenses and a wide range of other tax related issues.

In addition, there will be opportunity for project work and return preparation relating to corporation tax, transfer pricing, employment tax matters (such as PAYE Settlement Agreements) and Pillar two reporting as desired, which are currently handled by the Tax Manager.

 

As an Senior Indirect Tax Analyst , you'll be responsible for: 

Reviewing and improving processes around indirect tax and indirect tax submissions across the business

Providing ad-hoc indirect tax support to our sales force team on specific deals, particularly relating to non-UK sales and purchases

Reviewing and submitting US sales tax returns and respond to queries on US sales tax when the submissions move to the Tax Team (currently dealt with by the Multinational team)

Assisting in the preparation and review of direct tax submissions, with assistance from external advisors, (corporation tax, transfer pricing, country by country reporting), and provide advice to the business relating to these submissions

Undertaking ad-hoc project work covering a wide range of topics across all taxes

Continuing to develop and improve the VAT configuration of our ERP system alongside supporting with the potential implementation of VAT determination software

 

We'd love you to have 

An accounting or tax qualification (ACCA/ACA/ICAS/CTA) and experience of working in either in-house or UK top tier practice

Experience of US sales tax would be advantageous

A confident individual with good levels of judgement and pragmatism

Desire to work in a fast paced and often ambiguous environment

Excellent written and verbal communication
