We combine cutting-edge computation and AI with RNAi to make better medicines faster. Our unique approach enables us to differentiate, de-risk, and rapidly deploy our enabling platforms (HepNet™ and GalOmic™) to create novel GalNAc-siRNA therapies, improving upon traditional approaches to drug discovery. Our rapid and reproducible process has produced a broad therapeutic pipeline of GalOmic™ RNAi therapies targeting novel genes that have demonstrated disease-modifying potential in preclinical disease models. We are advancing our pipeline towards the clinic, with our most advanced asset (ETX-312, for the treatment of MASH) currently undergoing IND-enabling studies, the final stage of preclinical development. As Senior Director, Head of Data Strategy you will play a crucial role in defining and optimising how data drives groundbreaking advancements in medicine discovery and delivery. You will bring an innovative approach and deep expertise in data design, strategy, governance, and infrastructure, guiding cross-functional teams to turn data into information. Your role will involve designing forward looking, scalable data infrastructures, ensuring robust data provenance. Reporting to the VP, Head of Applied AI & Informatics, you will lead initiatives across the enterprise to design and execute data strategies that enable next-generation research and development. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and ensuring that data is used to its fullest potential to transform and disrupt our industry. The position is based in our office in Paddington, London, UK. The working hours for this role are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Current hybrid working arrangements permit Friday working from home. What you will do Define and execute a long-term data strategy aligned with the company's business and technical goals Lead the design and development of scalable and future-proof data and metadata infrastructure Be fundamentally data curious: have a passion for data and seek out new data resources and connections to propel our vision Ensure the data frequency, metadata management and data provenance remains fit for purpose Collaborate closely with biologists, business & legal teams, data engineers, software engineers, and AI engineers to ensure seamless integration of data systems and processes Oversee the design and implementation of data governance and validation frameworks, ensuring data quality, traceability, and compliance with industry regulations enabling us to be always audit ready Guide the development and maintenance of ETL pipelines and data workflows to ensure efficient data processing and validation Support all teams across the enterprise by ensuring that data is well-structured, pre-processed, and optimized for model training Ensure robust data security and privacy measures are in place, particularly for sensitive or regulated data Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging data technologies and tools to keep the infrastructure modern and effective Act as a strategic advisor to the senior leadership teams, providing insights and recommendations on data-driven decisions Mentor, and guide and support technical teams, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization Liaise with the legal team during the negotiation and execution of data licencing agreements, ensuring compliance with usage allowances, legal terms, and conditions Oversee governance processes to maintain data integrity and regulatory adherence Skills & qualifications Experience of defining data governance, quality control, and data lifecycle management to support decision-making, R&D, and product development . Ability to align data initiatives across engineering, platform, and AI teams, ensuring collaboration and consistent data strategies Experience in creating long-term data strategies that integrate data across the enterprise into a cohesive framework Experience implementing data governance frameworks, ensuring vendor and regulatory compliance and establishing data quality protocols across all teams Experience designing scalable and robust data architectures that cater to diverse needs (e.g., large-scale biological datasets, AI models, platform integration) Experience managing change within data systems, including transitioning to new platforms, implementing new tools, and following agile methodologies to keep up with the fast-paced environment Experience in leading cloud adoption strategies, with a focus on building distributed data storage and processing systems that cater to AI and platform needs Experience enforcing robust data privacy and security measures in line with industry standards and regulations (e.g., encryption, access controls) Nice to have: Cloud experience with AWS for storage, computing, and building cloud-native data architectures Prior experience in biotech or similarly complex domains where data is diverse and used for a variety of purposes (R&D, clinical, operational) Our culture & values Our success starts & ends with our team – the passionate, curious and collaborative individuals who work here.
