Working as one ofour Senior Data Scientists at Saga, you will play a pivotal role inshaping our data strategy and driving the development of advancedanalytics solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to harnessthe power of data to build predictive models, extract meaningfulinsights, inform strategic decisions, and contribute to the overallsuccess of the organisation using machine learning and statisticaltechniques. You will have access to the latest analytical tools andthe chance to work with some of the most renowned Decision Dataleaders in the UK market. We work in a hybrid way at Saga both athome and in the office. When you do come into the office, it'll bewith a real purpose in mind - to meet with your team, to worktogether, and of course to socialise and celebrate too! Our DataScience team meet in London once a week and then in Kent once aquarter. Role Responsibility Our Senior Data Scientist will befully accountable for the following areas; - Advanced Analytics& Modelling: Design, develop, and implement advanced machinelearning algorithms and statistical models to solve complexbusiness problems. Drive the exploration and adoption ofcutting-edge data science techniques and technologies. - Insightsand Reporting: Extract actionable insights from large, complexdatasets to guide business decision-making. - Collaboration withStakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders and technicalcolleagues to understand data science requirements and integratedata science solutions into existing workflows & applications.Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technicalcounterparts from start to finish of every project. - Data Strategyand Model Governance: Collaborate with cross-functional teams toexecute the company's data strategy. Ensure models are fair,explainable, and in compliance with relevant regulations andpolicies. - Project Management: Manage and deliver projects ontime, to high standards. - Agile ways of working: Demonstrateexperience in working in an agile environment, participating insprint planning, and adapting to changing priorities. - Continuouslearning: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies,and best practices in data science and machine learning. Bring themost relevant ones back to SAGA and find ways to implement them tounlock business value. The Ideal Candidate Working as a Senior DataScientist at Saga, you will need to demonstrate the followingskills and experience; - Previously worked in a data science rolefor a large data-rich organisation, with a track record ofindependent project delivery. - Demonstrate previous experience ofworking in a marketing domain or have the desire and enthusiasm tomove into this area. - Strong programming skills in languages suchas Python and SQL. (A technical task will form part of theinterview process.) - Credible expert in machine learning,statistical modelling, and data analysis. - Excellent communicationskills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts toboth technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing businessrecommendations within a marketing-based field. - Experience withbig data technologies and cloud platforms, ideally Azure. - Acurious nature, with the drive to learn and master new tech andmethods. Desirable; - Previously worked in an agile workingenvironment, with a focus on iterative and collaborative projectdelivery. - Experience with data visualisation tools e.g. Tableau.- Experience in model monitoring. (MLOPS experience would bedesirable.) - Gained a master's in a quantitative field such asComputer Science, Statistics, or related disciplines.
