About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for aSenior Data Scientistto take on a key role within a collaborative, forward-thinking Data Science function. Sitting within the personalisation team, you’ll be working alongside machine learning engineers, product stakeholders, and developers to deliver intelligent, customer-facing features starting with personalisation but evolving toward reward systems.


This is a hands-on, end-to-end role where you’ll have full ownership of models, from ideation to deployment, and play a major part in shaping the roadmap for intelligent products across a modern, scalable platform.


Responsibilities


  • Building scalable, data-driven product features that enhance customer experience and drive automation across the platform.
  • Translating business requirements into actionable data science solutions, even when context is limited or requirements are evolving.
  • Working cross-functionally with machine learning engineers, product managers, and other teams to deliver full-lifecycle model implementations.
  • Maintaining and iterating on models post-deployment, taking ownership of performance monitoring and optimisation.
  • Writing well-structured, reusable code that adheres to best practices for collaboration, scalability, and maintenance.
  • Promoting your work and contributing to the visibility of the team both internally and externally.
  • Coaching peers and less experienced team members through example and support.
  • Ensuring all work aligns with internal compliance and governance frameworks, reporting any concerns where appropriate.


Requirements


  • A solid academic foundation in a relevant degree (MSc or higher, ideally).
  • Proven success designing, building, and deploying machine learning models into production environments.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, with practical experience using distributed processing tools such as Spark.
  • A proactive, self-starting approach to problem solving, especially in cases where clear precedents or frameworks don’t exist.
  • Clear and confident communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of experimentation methodologies, including AB testing and statistical analysis.
  • An interest in sports, gaming, or personalisation domains is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and the broader software delivery lifecycle, including governance and release management.
  • A mentoring mindset, with a desire to coach junior team members and raise the overall capability of the team.
