The shift pattern for this position is 0800-1600, 0900-1700. 0800-2000. Plus on call rota.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the team at The Vale of Leven Community Maternity Unit. As a Senior Charge Midwife you will carry 24 hour continuing responsibility for the department and you will provide clinical leadership to the midwifery team. As a clinical leader you will promote teamwork within a multi-professional environment, demonstrate critical analysis and decision making skills and lead the delivery of clinical excellence.
You will influence and facilitate change within the department and where appropriate the organisation. You will promote a clean, comfortable, caring and safe environment for staff, women and visitors by ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and protocols. You will ensure a high standard of record keeping in accordance with Nursing & Midwifery Council, national legislation and local standards, facilitating effective communication with the multi-professional team. You will act as a role model, creating a supportive ethos to empower staff to contribute to the delivery of high quality person centeredness care. You should be a registered Midwife on the NMC Register, educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience or evidence of continuous professional development.
Applicants will ideally have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience within relevant area and/or demonstrate expert clinical and professional practice developed through experience and theoretical knowledge.
The Vale of Leven Community Maternity Unit is a stand-alone unit.
You must be a practicing midwife on the NMC register.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.
