As a Senior Analyst - Data Engineering, you will be at the helm of designing, developing, and optimizing ETL processes that ensure our data is not only reliable but also of the highest quality and efficiency. Your expertise will be pivotal as you mentor junior team members, instilling best practices and fostering a culture of growth and excellence. In this role, you will dive deep into exploring new data sources, aligning them with business needs, and implementing rigorous data quality checks that set the standard across the organisation. Your initiatives will continually enhance our data platform, making it more robust and responsive to the evolving demands of our business. Taking the lead in creating and refining scalable, high-performance data models, you will collaborate closely with data scientists and analysts to set and uphold data modelling standards that drive our analytics capabilities forward. As a technical leader, you will shape the future of data engineering at Virgin Atlantic by developing and enforcing best-in-class engineering standards, overseeing impactful projects, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders will be instrumental in communicating project updates, gathering critical feedback, and refining our processes. Day to day Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data engineering solutions to support various business functions. Collaborate with diverse teams to gather requirements and determine data needs. Develop and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure efficient data flow. Perform data analysis and data quality assessments to identify and resolve issues. Create and maintain data models and databases for reporting and analytics purposes. Implement effective strategies in data engineering and uphold data governance standards. About you Demonstrated ability to lead the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and models, ensuring high performance and scalability. Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data engineering tools, with hands-on experience in cloud technologies and scalable data warehouses. Databricks and Azure experience is highly beneficial. Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
