The SDT develops solutions to social issues. We create integrated technologies that combine large scale data with knowledge from a variety of fields, including data science, the humanities and social sciences. We are developing systems that use real-world, real-time data to create digital twins that mirror the behavior of complex systems – cities, transport, power – and enable their management. Our systems are developed for real-world requirements.We are seeking a creative researcher with an interest in software development who can integrate our leading-edge technologies and data sources to create challenging examples of the SDT in action.Your role will involve:Evaluating requirements for SDT applicationsIdentifying suitable technologies and data (from Fujitsu Laboratories or elsewhere) to fulfil these requirementsDesigning and implementation of proofs of concept or prototype systems to demonstrate the SDTAcquiring domain knowledge of SDT application areas to communicate the benefits to our stakeholdersGenerating IP and publishing work in top academic conferences and journals Your experienceTo be suitable for this opportunity, you will be pro-active in your approach, adaptable and able to demonstrate that you have:A Post-Graduate qualification in a relevant field e.G. PhD or similarExperience in the simulation of complex systems Understanding of the principles of software engineeringProficiency in object-oriented programming languageExperience in cloud development environment e.G.
