About the role

The role involves working at the Centre for Medical Image Computing (CMIC), collaborating closely with the University of Edinburgh to work on a large-scale neuroimaging analysis project, using the brain-age paradigm to develop models trained on CT or MRI data in a large NHS Scotland dataset.

The role will involve interacting with a massive neuroimaging and EHR dataset, designing and training deep-learning models and preparing reports and manuscripts for conference/journal submission, alongside coordinating patient & public involvement/engagement activities.

The salary scale for this role is £43, - £47, and funded until 31st January in the first instance.

About you

The candidate will have a PhD in either computer science, neuroscience or medical imaging, and requires skills in managing and processing neuroimaging data, running code (, Python) on remote computing systems (, HPC cluster, cloud server). Experience with dementia research, neuroimaging research and translational artificial intelligence will be crucial as the role will involve managing large neuroimaging datasets, running data processing tasks and assisting report preparation. Excellent internal and external communication skills, alongside experience coordinating outreach activities are required.
