Research Fellow in Data Science and Data Analytics

£32, - £38, per annum (pro rata)

Fixed-Term Contract – 1 Year

Salary to be determined following interview with selection panel - scope to appoint at the grade above based on experience(38, - £43, p.a. pro rata)

Role Overview
This role has a dual focus:

Development of Data Tools and Resources: You will create interactive dashboards and other data tools to support the analysis and communication of insights.Prototyping for Social Science Research: You will contribute to a new project aimed at developing prototypes that allow social science researchers to address key questions over time using data from the VCSE sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects that directly impact decision-makers, policymakers, funders, and practitioners within the VCSE sector.

The NTU VCSE Data and Insights Observatory is seeking a Research Assistant to join our innovative team. Since its establishment in , The Observatory has become a leading research centre dedicated to collaborating with and for the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector. Our mission is to measure, evaluate, and communicate trends and insights that empower the sector to analyse existing data and generate new data, using rigorous methodologies that reduce data redundancy and duplication.

Key Skills and Experience Required

Expertise in data analytics and data cleaning. Proficiency in Python. Some experience in designing interactive dashboards. Some experience in rapid prototyping work.

Personal Attributes

Strong teamwork skills. Ability to take initiative and work creatively. Ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders effectively.

About the VCSE Data and Insights Observatory
The Observatory is committed to increasing the capacity and capability of VCSE organisations by developing a robust, unified data infrastructure. We provide practical resources and tools that generate insights about the sector, supporting organisational decision-makers and analysts in their work.

This role will be hybrid.
