Overview

We’re looking for a Research Director who can make strategic research decisions with minimal input from superiors and someone who demonstrates an ability to plan, prioritise and execute these decisions both independently and with others.

The Research Director will be continuously thinking strategically about, and working on, new business, in terms of growing existing clients’ scope, as well as developing new leads. This will entail understanding and interpreting client research briefs and putting forward well-thought-out and eloquent proposals that can be presented at a senior level with confidence.

You will be expected to actively work with other specialisms (Data Science & Strategy), to understand and present data as effectively and insightfully as possible, leveraging our combined skillsets.

Alongside client briefs, we have a range of thought leadership projects, including development whitepapers, reports, which will be published & marketed externally.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively suggest research projects that further the thought leadership agenda.
  • Manage and use Touchpoints (the world’s largest Paid, Owned, Earned norms database), in terms of pitching, field research, and strategy recommendations based on results in combination with the strategy team.
  • Liaise effectively and professionally with senior-level clients, as an “overseer” on smaller projects and as the main day-to-day contact on key clients.
  • Identify, compile, and deliver key findings and research insight presentations to clients in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Work closely with the Head of Strategy in the development of new business and closely support them during the scoping of top-level research proposals.
  • Challenge client briefs and recommend appropriate methodologies to meet research objectives, and constantly think of ways in which client delivery can be enhanced and made more efficient.
  • Cost out small, medium, and large-scale projects, with minimal guidance from the Head of Strategy.

Qualifications

Previous experience in:

  • International Quantitative/Qualitative research
  • Experience leading research teams
  • Excellent communication skills
