We are looking for an R&D Director to lead our ambitious global Research and Development team. If you have a passion for research, data analysis, and communication, this role is tailor-made for you. As our R&D Director, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our business, helping us open new revenue streams, and bringing fresh ideas to life.

Responsibilities


  • Drive Innovation:Develop and execute a bold R&D strategy, focusing on pioneering technologies that redefine content creation and distribution.
  • Shape the Future: Stay ahead of the curve by identifying emerging trends in technology to unlock new business opportunities and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
  • Explore New Frontiers: Lead the charge in researching new tools, platforms, and media formats like AR/VR, AI-driven content, and interactive media to revolutionise how we engage with audiences.
  • Collaborate for Impact: Work hand-in-hand with product, IT, and production teams to seamlessly integrate cutting-edge innovations into our workflows, driving efficiency and creativity.
  • Unlock Opportunities: Partner with our business development teams to explore new technology-driven content formats that will captivate users and generate revenue.
  • Lead a Global Team: Lead a talented, global R&D team, fostering a culture of creativity, experimentation, and professional growth through mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Strategic Resource Management: Oversee the R&D budget, ensuring that high-impact projects are prioritised to deliver maximum value for the business.
  • Connect with the Best: Build and nurture relationships with top tech vendors, research institutions, and industry partners to access cutting-edge tools and innovations.
  • Measure Success: Track and evaluate the impact of R&D initiatives on key business metrics like user engagement, monetization, and operational efficiency.
  • Share Your Vision: Present your findings, insights, and recommendations to our executive leadership team and board of directors, influencing the company’s strategic direction.
  • Keep Stakeholders in the Loop: Report regularly on R&D progress, timelines, and potential impacts to key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across the organisation.



Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in R&D, innovation, or technology roles, ideally within digital media, publishing, or entertainment industries.
  • A proven track record of drivingsuccessful digital transformationor innovation projects that have made a tangible impact on business outcomes.
  • Experience leadingcross-functional teamsin fast-paced, tech-driven environments, delivering innovative solutions under tight timelines.

Technical Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of emerging technologies likeAI, machine learning (ML), AR/VR, and automation tools.
  • Familiarity withCMS/MCN platforms, and multimedia formats, enabling you to integrate the latest tools into content creation and distribution workflows.

Visionary Leadership:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills thatfoster innovationand encourage creativity in your team.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams while keeping projects on track, on time, and aligned with company goals.

Project Management Mastery:

  • Exceptional organisational and project management abilities, ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion.
  • Quick, decisive, and strategic in your decision-making, even in the face of complex challenges.

Translate Complexity with Ease:

  • You can communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders in a way that’s clear, concise, and impactful, bridging the gap between tech and business teams.
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills, empowering you toshape strategic decisionsat the highest levels of the company.
