About YouTo be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:Essential criteria1. PhD in Medical Statistics or Epidemiology*2. Experience working with large datasets e.g. CPRD or similar3. Experience with relevant statistical software (STATA or R)4. Experience writing/contributing to manuscripts for publication5. Research experience in Public Health/Epidemiology/Informatics/ Statistics6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills7. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and independently8. Committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, actively addressing areas of potential bias *Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting award of their PhDs will be considered. In these circumstances the appointment will be made at Grade 5, spine point 30 with the title of Research Assistant. Upon confirmation of the award of the PhD, the job title will become Research Associate and the salary will increase to Grade 6.Desirable criteria1. Experience of advanced statistical and/or machine learning. methods, such as longitudinal analysis methods, latent variables models, clustering algorithms, missing data and clinical trial analysis2. Publications in high impact journals3.
