Day to Day:Work closely with the Portfolio Manager to create data engineering and prediction tools primarily for the strategic trading of commoditiesCreate software engineering solutions for quantitative analysis and tradingAid in conceptualizing, programming, and maintaining tools for the strategic trading infrastructure of the teamEstablish and sustain resilient data pipelines and databases that receive and convert substantial amounts of dataDevelop procedures to verify the accuracy of the dataImplementation and management of systems to facilitate quantitative analysis (e.G., large-scale computation and serialization frameworks)Real-time operation of such systems, including monitoring and preemptive identification of potential issues and interventionKeep abreast of cutting-edge technologies and tools, including technical libraries, computing environments, and academic researchEngage with the PM and the trading group in an open environment, participating in the entire investment processTechnical Abilities:Advanced proficiency in PythonAdept in contemporary data science tool stacks (Jupyter, Pandas, Numpy, SciPy) with experience in machine learningBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field from a top-rated universitySkilled in quantitative analysis, mathematical modeling, statistics, regression, and probability theoryProficient in professional software development methods, version control systems, unit testing and debugging tools, and microservices architectureExcellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to swiftly grasp and apply intricate conceptsIdeal Background:Over 2 years of experience in developing algorithmic trading systems, particularly in strategic Equity trading markets.Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, juggling multiple tasks, and adapting to a fast-paced environment
