Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the strategic engagement on projects of any scale with client executive stakeholders.
  • Responsible for identifying strategic risks to projects and overseeing the mitigation of these.
  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the appropriate quality of all work orders and change requests relating to their projects, as well as suggesting enhancements where this falls short of enabling the document to operate as a firm foundation for the project.
  • Responsible for the approval of project deliverables, including forecasts, timesheet management, PSRs, etc., and is able to challenge the content of these in instances where consistency, accuracy, and completeness are compromised.
  • Represents Hitachi Solutions Delivery Team in strategic prospect meetings, where discussions cover governance best practices, strategic and business risks, among other things.
  • Responsible for articulating the content of the report to client executives, proactively identifying and communicating key messages and implications.
  • Responsible for assessing and validating complex project plans based on Hitachi’s Consensus methodology, including the necessary deliverables. Is able to articulate the benefits and structure of Consensus to the internal and client team, and champions best practice governance, identifying candidate areas for improvement or development of Consensus.
  • Is the key player in client C-Level relationships, able to inform and advise on best practices, risk mitigation, and strategic challenges to senior client staff.
  • Responsible for leading the resolution of conflict situations, but able to recognize when calling on the support of the Hitachi Executive is necessary.
  • Project Directors are recognized for being able to own other internal Hitachi processes (Work Order approval, Change Request approval, etc.) when necessary and when requested by Head of Delivery and will be expected to lead and direct initiatives and improvements in the delivery team.

Qualifications:

  • Can effectively manage large and diverse teams with additional Hitachi business leadership accountabilities. Can provide support and guidance for senior personnel, involving other Senior Management and HR where this is relevant.
  • Significant demonstrable experience in managing large scale business applications programs and projects, across a range of industries.
  • Demonstrated experience of building and maintaining relationships with senior executives within both Hitachi and client organizations.
  • Commercially aware.
