The Global and Investment Banking Technology Team is seeking a Technical Product Owner to join as a leader in the deal execution technology team, with a key focus on Business Controls & Efficiency.

As a Software Engineer/Product Owner at JPMorgan Chase within this team, youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor with a focus on product management, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who is an experienced Software Engineer who has held hybrid roles with a focus on product management. You will have with direct interactions with the business as immediate stakeholders, and the ability to influence the design, implementation and strategy of a product, in line with markets' standards for a Technical Product Owner/Business Analyst.

Job responsibilities

  • Define and execute value streams that drive business value, and align with the wider technology strategy
  • Lead a program autonomously, providing relevant communications to clients and management, dealing with escalation as needed
  • Track return of investment, and actively work towards higher value realisation
  • Undertake analysis of complex client workflows and datasets
  • Design solutions in partnership with end users (Bankers, Business Management, Control Management), the UX team, architecture and other software engineering partners
  • Define the delivery of features for a program of work by articulating user-stories, writing functional and non-functional requirements and executing a clear release with appropriate marketing, feedback tracking and follow up
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the team, understanding our client’s needs and business drivers to shape appropriate solutions
  • Ensure appropriate use of data in feature development and continuous improvement of data standards with the wider firm data strategy
  • Be responsible and accountable to the quality of the end-user experience through user research, metrics and stakeholder relationships; including the influencing of prioritisation and direction
  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development and technical troubleshooting
  • Deliver high-quality production code, and review code written by others
  • Adopt and/or drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in the industry as a hybrid Software Engineer/Product owner role in delivering business requirements
  • Hands on experience in the functional design of complex enterprise systems
  • Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Detailed understanding & experience in end-to-end software development frameworks like Agile / Scrum
  • Well versed with JIRA or similar agile project management software creating stories, tracking story progress, etc.
  • Experience in managing senior business stakeholders in global context
  • Track record in working with stakeholders in different geographies
  • A commercial mind-set to deliver short, medium and long term strategies to achieve sustained efficiency; an innovative thought process; focus on simplification
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goal
  • Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Nice to have: Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD) including, but not limited to, context maps, context cards, anti-corruption layer, in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry
