We create a place where people can grow, be their best, be safe, and feel welcome, valued and included. We offer a competitive salary, an annual bonus based on company performance, healthcare and wellbeing programmes, pension plan membership, and shares and savings programme.

We embrace modern work practises; our Performance with Choice programme offers a hybrid working model, empowering you to find the optimal balance between remote and in-office work.

In this role you will

  • Design and develop computational methods for the analysis of high throughput, multi-dimensional data sets within NCS, with a focus on supporting multiparametric flow cytometry and in vitro cellular imaging studies.
  • Support analyses of data sets including RNAseq, metabolomics, multiparametric cytokine data as NCS priorities require, with a particular focus on non-clinical safety and translational biomarkers.
  • Identify and implement state-of-the-art data mining methodologies and machine learning algorithms to assist in the interpretation of cellular and molecular assay outcomes.
  • Define, refine, and implement standards for quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) of methods choice to ensure data and reports are of high quality and build confidence in GSKs integrity and scientific credibility with internal partners and global regulatory authorities.
  • Work collaboratively, establish and maintain close working relationships with RD data scientists and NCS biological scientists generating data as part of a cross-functional team, contribute to the experimental design based on the objectives set for the study, and support customised data visualisation and analysis solutions.
  • Translate informatics solutions into business-oriented biomedical understanding, to ultimately support decision-making endpoints in drug discovery and development processes.
  • Execute and optimise analytic algorithms and data flow at scale, employing GSKs computing infrastructure.
  • Produce high quality written documentation of methodologies applied (e.g. protocol contributions, scope of work), analysis results and interpretation for internal decision making purposes and inclusion in regulatory submissions as required.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications Skills:

  • We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • PhD relevant in Computational Biology (e.g., ADME, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Mathematics, Bioinformatics). Proven mathematical expertise in one or more aspects relevant to non-clinical safety / toxicology is desirable
  • Experience in analysing multi-dimensional data sets including flow cytometry and cellular imaging studies
  • Experience in applying bioinformatics approaches to analyse and integrate omics data to enhance understanding of biological processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment with good communication skills
  • Expertise in scientific computing and programming such as R, Python
