Job Description

Our Pricing team is the engine room of our business and key to our continued success. The Principal Pricing Analyst will help us to significantly improve the profitability of esure through driving improvements to our Motor pricing, across all of our brands and channels.

With your help we can analyse real time data, this means we are really looking for an individual who is passionate about all things data, loves to get into the detail of things and can use data to tell a story and make recommendations to our business.

What you will do:

  • Recommend, deliver and coordinate changes to prices and underwriting criteria for our Motor products to help achieve volume and profit targets.
  • Collaborate with the business to help them understand main aspects of Pricing e.g. risk pricing, retail pricing and expenses, including how these are modelled and derived.
  • Lead and coordinate the build and updating of significant risk/retail models using Radar, Emblem and any other alternative modelling/Data Science techniques.
  • Have full oversight of analysis to monitor any issues in key aspects of business performance, such as conversion, retention, loss ratios, and rate analysis.
  • Use insights gained from internal and external sources to deliver a step change improvement to esure’s pricing capabilities.
  • Be a coach and mentor to our Analysts and Senior Analysts and support in managing tasks, assessing priorities and mentorship on key data or projects
  • Support in the delivery of pricing initiatives, as well as feeding in new ideas, to make our pricing and rating capabilities market leading.


Qualifications

We’d love you to have:

  • A passion for data, analysis and drawing meaningful insight from data to share with a business to make impactful recommendations and changes.
  • Experience within a Senior or Principal Pricing role with knowledge of the UK Motor or Home insurance products / markets.
  • Experience with Radar and other insurance pricing software such as Emblem.
  • Good experience with statistical software SQL
  • Solid understanding of pricing and modelling techniques
  • The ability to communicate technical information in non-technical terms and to be able to produce clear and concise reports.
