Principal Modelling Engineer

We are looking for a Principal Modelling Engineer with demonstrated expertise in semiconductor IP modelling to develop software models of our ground-breaking AI accelerators.

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop pre-silicon models of Fractile’s innovative AI acceleration hardware, informing architecture definition, performance evaluation, and product design and verification
• Enable early software development using models of products in development
• Work with hardware, software, and ML engineers in a highly collaborative hardware-software co-design methodology
• Contribute to the definition of business-wide modelling requirements and strategy
• Support and develop more junior colleagues

You have:

• Strong experience of pre-silicon modelling of semiconductor IP covering one or more of architectural, performance, verification and functional modelling
• Expert knowledge of modelling and simulation technologies such as gem5 or SystemC
• First-rate C/C++ and Python skills and solid experience of industry standard development tools and technologies
• A deep understanding of computer architecture and hardware design
• An creative and innovative mindset, and a willingness to take ownership and drive results in a fast-paced environment
• Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Maths, Physics, or related degree and 7+ years of industry experience

You may also have:

• Knowledge of machine learning techniques and technologies
• Previous experience in a startup or small team environment
