Job Overview:

We are seeking a Principal Machine Learning Scientist with a specialization in optimization to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in merging cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and machine learning to automate and deploy advanced computational models focused on optimization across various industries. You will lead the innovation in optimization algorithms, enhancing our product offerings and driving our technological evolution with a focus on efficiency and problem-solving at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Scalable Optimization Solutions:Craft scalable and adaptable optimization solutions that deliver tangible improvements and efficiencies, leveraging the latest in machine learning and operations research.
  2. Prototype to Production:Collaborate with engineering teams to transition optimization model prototypes into optimized, scalable, and fully integrated applications that drive significant business value.
  3. Drive Business Insights with Optimization Models:Utilize optimization models to extract actionable insights that inform strategic decisions, promoting significant business improvements and effectively communicating findings to stakeholders.
  4. Specialize in Optimization:Develop and implement cutting-edge optimization algorithms that solve complex problems in areas such as logistics, scheduling, resource allocation, and network design.
  5. Ensure Data Integrity for Optimization Models:Conduct thorough data audits and cleansing, focusing on the unique demands of optimization problems to power insightful and effective solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Advanced Expertise in Optimization:Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on optimization.
  2. Proven Experience:5-7+ years in quantitative analytics, data modeling, or operations research, with a deep understanding of optimization techniques and their application in machine learning.
  3. Technical Proficiency:Expertise in Python and SQL, with significant experience using optimization libraries (e.g., PuLP, Gurobi, CPLEX).

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Leadership in Optimization Projects:Experience leading complex projects that focus on optimization, demonstrating an ability to mentor teams and manage cross-functional projects effectively.
  2. Machine Learning Integration:Knowledge in integrating optimization with machine learning techniques (using TensorFlow, PyTorch) to enhance decision-making processes and model performance.
  3. Cloud and MLOps for Optimization Models:Familiarity with deploying and managing optimization models on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and employing MLOps practices (with tools like MLFlow, BentoML) to ensure efficient lifecycle management of optimization solutions.
  4. Ethical AI and Continuous Learning:A robust understanding of AI ethics and privacy considerations, especially relevant to optimization, coupled with a commitment to continuous learning and staying current with the latest trends and research in optimization and machine learning.
