What your new role will entail;
AECOM's Water Engineering team are recruiting a specialist to join our well established and growing water asset management team in Belfast. As an established water asset management practitioner, you will deliver innovative technical solutions to meet water company asset management needs, utilising skills within data analytics, GIS, coding and data visualisation.
You will have a blend of technical & quantitative skills, communication skills, creativity, and a desire to solve client problems. Working as a technical contributor for project scoping and delivery, you will support AECOM's technical interactions with clients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Undertake technical work on projects, liaising with AECOM teams in the development and delivery of the technical approach.
- Conduct hands-on application of Data Science tools including, but not limited to code, dashboards, algorithms, applications, and GIS.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to team members and throughout the business.
- Conduct peer reviews and/or make technical presentations.
- Develop into an in-house expert on specific complex technical solutions or processes.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer through tuition, mentoring and internal presentations.
- Keep managers advised as to status of assignments with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and risks.
- Manage small teams (non-direct and potentially direct reports) to complete tasks, projects, and initiatives.

Our team is adept at analysing data to support our key Clients, supporting our key clients Northern Ireland Water and Uisce Éireann (UÉ), with making evidence based decisions about their key assets, enabling them to utilise their budgets full potential, reducing reactive and costly maintenance and supporting their business case submission to Regulatory bodies.
Our local team links with global expertise to develop solutions for our Clients, build tools that ensure consistency in approach and assessment across asset portfolios. Our team is growing to meet our Clients requirements.

Qualifications
Here’s what we will need from you;
- Experience using data, analytics, GIS to understand asset condition and performance, ideally in the water industry.
- Experience of the UK and NI regulated Water industry, including standard performance metrics.
- Experience of coding/model building using proprietary/open-source platforms.
- Experience of people and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively help clients scope out their problems, and to present data, solutions, and analytical findings to a range of audiences.
