About YouTo be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:Essential Criteria1. PhD awarded in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or near completion*2. Strong background in machine learning, with some expertise in deep learning, federated learning or privacy techniques.3. Demonstrated experience in implementing privacy-preserving mechanisms for machine learning.4. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with experience in machine learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).5. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex research problems.6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences. * Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting award of their PhDs will be considered. In these circumstances the appointment will be made at Grade 5, spine point 30 with the title of Research Assistant. Upon confirmation of the award of the PhD, the job title will become Research Associate and the salary will increase to Grade 6.Desirable Criteria1. Experience working with healthcare data and understanding of related privacy regulations2. Track record of publications in reputable journals or conferences in the field of federated learning or privacy-preserving AI.3.
