An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Researcher to join the Research Center for Health, Data Science research group based in the School of Health and Life Sciences at GCU. We are looking to appoint a post-doctoral Researcher with robust skills in the co-creation and evaluation of health interventions. We are looking for a Researcher interested in working on large-scale co-creation projects. We require a capable individual working in a transdisciplinary and international environment. The Researcher will join a multidisciplinary team focussed on active and healthy ageing, physical activity, musculo-skeletal health, rehabilitation, neurological conditions, prevention of diseases, social work and public health.

The purpose of this role is to conduct co-creation research as part of the European funded project YEAH! (Youth Health from a Holistic perspective).This post focuses on the planning, implementation and evaluation of the co-creation of a holistic intervention for young people’s health across Europe and the UK. The co-creation will take place in 7 countries and the intervention will be tested in a large-scale randomised control trial. The research fellow will be expected to contribute and drive growth in collective intelligence and co-creation research in collaboration with the researchers in the Research Centre for Health.

The Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedicine within the School of Health of Life Sciences, has an excellent track record in sustaining and growing research and knowledge transfer links with NHS. GCU is 1st for physiotherapy in Scotland 2nd in the UK. Building on this successful track record, the successful candidate will be part of a vibrant team.

The Researcher will join the Data for Common Good research group which is a multi-disciplinary team across the University. The group aims to develop Data Science for social impact and social innovation. 

The Role and Criteria

We are seeking a Researcher who holds an environmental science, health research, social sciences, computer sciences or related fields such as urban geography or sustainability.

The candidate should demonstrate;

Track record in cocreation research and evidence based-cocreation methodology Track record in intervention and cocreation evaluation Track record of working in a multi and transdisciplinary environment. Excellent organisational, project management and communication (written and oral) skills, with attention to detail Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals

Experience in working on EU projects, working with adolescent and children as well as mastery of several EU languages would be an added bonus.

The role responsibilities;

Conduct multidisciplinary research and publish results in high impact peer reviewed journals Plan, conduct and evaluate the co-creation of an intervention in 7 countries Organise, engage and administer co-creation laboratories in 7 countries Maintain communication with and engagement of all stakeholders across Europe Liaise with other scientists and work packages on the project Contribute to reporting activities associated with the project, including reports and other deliverables to the project funder Maintain a database of stakeholders and develop/deliver a regular communication campaign about the project Present the research to diverse audiences at public events and scientific conferences Train others in evidence-based co-creation methodology

Contribute to guiding a PhD fellow through their research as part of their supervisory team
