Job overview

An exciting opportunity to work with children within the Children's physiotherapy team for Brentwood, Basildon and Thurrock as a Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner. 

Main duties of the job

1.To assist in hydrotherapy sessions.

To order, monitor, record, manage the storage and set up of school and community equipment.

To lead / organise/ run rebound if senior physiotherapist is off sick.

To lead / organise / run group activity / sessions

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,258 to a maximum of £2,122 pro rata for part time).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To assist the physiotherapists in providing a high standard physiotherapy service to pre-school / school aged children by supporting the therapist in the screening, planning, implementation and modification of physiotherapy programmes.

2. To carry out an extended assistant’s role in identified areas having completed training and successful competency training.
