Position Type: Full time or 4-day per week minimum (based on 37.5 hour week), permanent.

Location: Oxford / London, with at least 2 days per week in the office.

Salary: £50,000 depending on Experience, pro-rata for 4 days.

OVERVIEW

A PR Week Top 150 PR, brand, creative, and digital marketing consultancy, BLUE is seeking a motivated, intelligent and dynamic People & Culture Manager to work as part of the senior team and oversee the full lifecycle of its employees - introducing, updating and improving policies and procedures as necessary. This involves taking the leading role in the day-to-day running of the people team to ensure the company is both statutorily compliant and leading the field in recruiting, developing and retaining talent.

Tasks

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, supporting the employees and Management Board with activities such as:

  • Line Managing the Inhouse Recruiter: having oversight of all recruitment and onboarding activity; playing an active role in delivering the Welcome to BLUE induction sessions and working with a member of the senior team to ensureBLUE Induction and Working PracticesLogremains up to date and fit for purpose
  • Supporting the Line Managers to sustain the six-monthly appraisal cycle for team of 40+; facilitating appraisals and assisting Line Managers with supporting paperwork / objectives.
  • Managing the weekly T@3 training schedule; the quarterly Employee of the Quarter nominations and regular Team Day’s / Gatherings to build and encourage a strong team ethos
  • Working with the senior team to develop training modules for different roles within the organisation
  • Leading the relationship with our external HR Consultants; leaning on them for complex cases and annual statutory policy updates
  • Ensuring all administration and record keeping is maintained accurately and in line with statutory requirements
  • Regular reporting on people matters to the Management Board.

Requirements

Applicants must have the following attributes:

  • Excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritise responsibilities

  • A willingness to work hard and ‘roll their sleeves up’

  • 4 or 5 days per week options

  • Experience of managing a diverse workload and to manage their own deadlines

  • A career history of dealing professionally with employees and reporting into the management team

  • The compassion to support employees through challenges at work and, where appropriate, in their home lives

  • A commercial mindset, balancing the needs of our employees with the needs of the business

  • The following would also be beneficial:

  • Experience within a PR, advertising or marketing agency or the professional services sector

  • CIPD 5 - People Management course or the Organisational Learning and Development course

  • Previous experience working within a people role or HR team during a company acquisition
