    We’re seeking an ambitious and self-driven Business Development Manager to own and scale our sales pipeline — from identifying global prospects to closing deals and nurturing strategic accounts. Based in Lincoln, with opportunities for international travel, you’ll be a key player in accelerating our commercial success.

My client is a data insights company transforming how growers understand and optimise crop performance during harvest. Using patented machine learning technology ( MLL) ( AI), fitted to existing harvesting or grading equipment, we provide real-time insights that go far beyond conventional crop sampling.

    We’re proud to challenge traditional thinking by applying ideas from other industries into agriculture. Our multi-disciplinary team includes software developers, hardware engineers, scientists, and commercial professionals – all focused on reducing waste, improving crop utilisation, and adding value for growers worldwide.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead Generation & Business Development

    Identify and qualify new commercial opportunities in global agricultural markets.

    Build and maintain a healthy prospect pipeline using CRM tools, events, referrals, and inbound leads

    Customer Engagement & Sales Conversion

    Create and deliver tailored proposals using consultative selling techniques.

    Conduct meetings (in-person and virtual) to build lasting client relationships and close deals

    Sales Strategy & Reporting

    Deliver accurate sales forecasts and maintain CRM data hygiene

    Monitor KPIs to refine sales strategy and increase conversion rates

    Market Intelligence & Brand Growth

    Represent HarvestEye at major global exhibitions and events

    Track market trends and competitor activity to inform outreach and commercial decisions

    Collaboration & Insight Sharing

    Work closely with our Customer Success and Product teams to ensure messaging aligns with market needs

    Share insights from the field to help shape product strategy and company roadmap.

    What You Bring

    We’re looking for a commercially savvy professional who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments — someone who’s just as comfortable developing strategy as they're executing it.

  • At least 3 years’ proven experience in sales or business development

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; confident, engaging with senior-level stakeholders

  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)

    Track record of successful cold outreach, inbound follow-up, and proposal writing

    Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills (e.g., financial performance, market dynamics)

    Ability to prioritise, plan and manage workload under pressure

    Willingness to travel and a valid driving licence

    Bonus: experience in agri-tech or agricultural sales is advantageous
