Join BAE Systems as an experienced Machine Learning (ML) Engineer. In our AI team, you will collaborate with National Security Customers to identify how AI/ML solutions can add value. You will lead prototype development, designing, implementing, and deploying AI solutions. This role requires a solid foundation in software engineering, statistics, and AI/ML concepts, along with awareness of the latest advancements in the field. You will be part of a multidisciplinary AI team focused on developing AI propositions that benefit our customers, working alongside Data Scientists, AI Strategy Leads, and Delivery Managers. Your responsibilities include understanding user needs, establishing our market position, developing skills and career paths in AI, building our AI partner ecosystem, and fostering innovation through AI experiments. Working in a small team, you'll have ownership and responsibility aligned with your appetite, while being supported by our broader National Security community. You will collaborate with data scientists to understand data requirements, clean and organize data, and build scalable capabilities. Conduct AI experiments to validate technical assumptions and assess technology maturity. Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models, demonstrating their transition from prototypes to products, and support other teams developing ML solutions. This is a pivotal time to join our AI growth journey, developing innovative products and services that support our mission and make a significant impact on UK security. About you You will have experience in: Prototyping applications with ML models to test feasibility and impact. Engineering and deploying ML-based solutions end-to-end. Operationalizing models to meet user needs. Integrating models into applications and systems. Monitoring and optimizing model performance. Exploring latest ML/AI advancements. Ensuring compliance with AI ethics and policies. Providing technical guidance on ML implementation. Programming in Python, Java, .Net, JavaScript, or C++. Using MLOps tools and frameworks. Version control with Git, Mercurial, or Perforce. Containerization with Docker, Kubernetes. Preferred experience includes refining models with data scientists, defining MLOps strategies, ensuring data quality, conducting data analysis, maintaining documentation, working with cloud ML services (AWS, Azure), integrating various database systems, and utilizing CI/CD tools. Security clearance is required; if not currently held, you must be eligible and willing to undergo the process.
