The shift pattern for this position is08:00am – 4:00pm Mon to Thurs (3:30pm Fri).

Glasgow Royal Infirmary requires an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the Estates shift teams to carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance across the hospital campus.

The post holder must be a time served electrical engineer, having completed a recognized electrical apprenticeship, and qualified to SVQ/HNC level with a minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience.

While the primary role of the post holder will be to carry out electrical tasks, they will be part of a multi-skilled technical team and will be responsible for the delivery of specialist technical services for a wide range of duties in relation to all disciplines of building services, including, but not limited to, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems. It is essential that the post holder accepts a wide range of cross trade duties post training to deliver a high standard of service, whilst planning and prioritising their workload.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
