ML Performance Engineer — Location: London

Join one of the world’s most sought-after trading firms, running one of the largest GPU clusters in finance. They trade hundreds of billions daily across global markets, using advanced machine learning and high-performance computing to drive their strategies. The structure is flat, execution is instant, and bureaucracy doesn’t exist. You’ll be part of a small, highly technical team working at the hardware/software boundary to push ML training and inference beyond what manufacturers consider possible. This isn’t just writing CUDA kernels – you’ll be hand-optimising execution plans, building compiler backends, tuning algorithms for commodity GPUs, and accelerating networking and computation at the microarchitectural level.


Responsibilities

  • Expert in C/C++/Rust or similar systems language
  • Comfortable solving complex algorithmic and low-level performance problems
  • Experience with Linux kernel/OS development or writing device drivers
  • Knowledge of PCIe, networking, and GPU architectures
  • Familiarity with SSA-based IRs and compiler optimisation a plus

Qualifications

Bonus: Background in HPC, ML frameworks, or distributed training environments.
