The role

We are seeking a Lead Marketing Scientist to drive advanced measurement strategies and deliver actionable insights that shape marketing decisions and business growth. This is a senior role with significant influence on strategic planning and innovation.


What will you do as a Lead Marketing and Data Scientist at N Brown?

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop holistic measurement frameworks and learning agendas that guide our marketing investments and influence executive decision making.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data from diverse sources (ad performance, user behavior, market trends) to uncover actionable insights.
  • Modeling & Experimentation: Build and maintain predictive models, apply causal inference techniques, and design experiments (e.g., conversion lift studies) to measure true impact.
  • Optimization: Use data-driven insights to optimize campaigns, bidding strategies, and targeting to maximize ROI and profitability.
  • Market Mix Modelling: analysing historical marketing and sales data to quantify the impact of different marketing channels and tactics on business performance, helping optimize budget allocation and forecast ROI.
  • Collaboration: Partner with trade, marketing, and cross‑functional teams to align measurement efforts and deliver efficient marketing campaigns.
  • Reporting & Storytelling: Create dashboards, reports, and compelling narratives that translate complex analytics into clear recommendations for technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Innovation: Explore emerging technologies such as machine learning and AI to enhance marketing measurement and optimization.

What We’re Looking For

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, BigQuery, Power BI.
  • Strong experience with statistical modelling (regression, causal inference, MMM, attribution models).
  • Programming skills in Python or R; familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and GCP) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Business Acumen: Deep curiosity to understand the “why” behind the numbers and drive measurable business outcomes.

Ways of Working

  • We offer hybrid working which varies across the business depending on the role you’re in. Our Head Office is located in the Northern Quarter in Manchester City Centre. So if you are travelling by train, tram or bus we’re perfectly located, plus we’re surrounded by cool cafes, trendy bars and the best places to eat!
  • Our full‑time working hours are 36.17 per week over 5‑days. We don’t have strict working hours therefore there is some flexibility around start and finish times as long as you are meeting the needs of the business.
