The UK Analytics & CRM team is part of the Global Data, Analytics & CRM team, this is a thriving and expert Analytics & CRM function supporting HSBC globally. The department is at the centre of excellence utilising data to drive insight, identifying opportunities to increase revenue, driving customer intelligence and marketing; using Machine learning to communicate the right message, to the right customer, at the right time, alongside driving revenue generating initiatives such as; pricing analytics, channel improvement and campaign effectiveness to name a few. The team actively handles a varied and dynamic range of business problems, using a data driven approach to solve, whilst managing communication effectiveness to maximise customer reach, the team is a critical pillar to driving sustainable growth.

In this role you will be:

 

  • Consulting with stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into data products for reporting, visualization, analytics and machine learning, finding quantitative solutions to business problems and articulate the results clearly to all stakeholders. Defining, building and maintaining data products such as tables, views and segments, along with corresponding metadata and code base.
  • Collaborating with global teams on the development of global data products and metadata standards and carrying out mathematical and statistical tests on large and complex data sets for stress testing and modelling. Developing, deploying and maintaining models which can predict, forecast and simulate scenarios with different variables.
  • Completing analysis on the following areas: consumer behaviour, segmentation, marketing and pricing, and delivering insight and proactively identifying opportunities to drive growth. Supporting with regulatory programmes, and ensuring highest levels of data accuracy and integrity, working to data usage and protection guidelines.
  • Supporting growth in the business through the delivery of Wealth & Personal Banking initiatives, delivering analytics to enable the design and roll-out of new lending products, enhancing existing product features and managing the exposure of our existing customers.
  • Leading complex analytical projects to completion with minimal guidance, and, formulating and clearly communicating conclusions and proposals considering the risk, reward and customer impact, collaborating with teams to make decisions.
  • The role is focussed on Lending, therefore you will be leading complex analytical projects that could be supporting Secured or Unsecured, and also areas such as (and not limited to) Acquisition, Targeting and Marketing, Balance Growth, Spend Growth, Pricing, Regulatory or Alternative lending to name a few.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

  • Previous experience in a Risk Analytics or an Analytics based role is essential. Experience of working within secured or unsecured products is desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding of consumer lending products, profitability and credit risk and proven ability to drive rapid insights from available data to drive business forward is critical. 
  • Applicants must have a track record of analytical capabilities using relevant software packages (i.e. SAS/SQL/VBA/Python) to analyse large amounts of data, draw conclusions and drive actions.
  • Extensive experience of data technologies, including relational, dimensional, NoSQL data platforms plus metadata and data transformation tools, and experience of traditional warehouse technologies (Teradata) and analytics platforms (SAS)
  • Experience of successful project management, working across a range of teams to deliver with a knowledge of FCA regulations and experience of their application in a consumer lending environment.

 

This is a hybrid working role with the base location as either Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, or Chester.
