The Opportunity:
This global role forms a part of the Data Strategy, Commercial Insights team.
As the Lead, Data Sourcing your key focus will be on strategic data acquisitions for the Commercial Insights team that brings highest value to Astellas, whilst educating the Commercial Insights team on transparency and compliance of using commercial data.
This role reports to the Head of Data Strategy, who reports to the Head of Commercial Capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading cross-functional collaborations within Astellas, focusing on identifying overlaps/ redundancies and leading programs to bring efficiencies where possible.
- Managing a Data Sourcing team (3-5 people) in their day to day in reviewing business data needs and training them to lead data sourcing projects.
- Strategic sourcing of Commercial Insights data to support the business needs and building strong vendor relationships to support efficiencies in sourcing.
- Promoting transparency of commercial data available, leading data education programs, and ensuring compliance of data usage through supporting and educating on Third Party Agreement needs.
- Leading on projects to evaluate the value of data, and building processes to reflect them into data purchase decisions
- Supporting PV requests and technology projects by ensuring loading of commercial data into Data Warehouse for Business Intelligence reporting.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Managed and led teams in commercial insights and data in the pharmaceutical industry, or in procuring pharmaceutical commercial data.
- Good understanding of Data Strategy and the technical processes surrounding Data Warehouse Familiarity with the agile working model.
- Designed and executed data purchase governance processes to ensure data purchases are reviewed and approved appropriately.
- Acted as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for commercial data, with knowledge of commercial data availability and potential utility across the organization with extensive Budget responsibility to cover commercial data acquisitions and related projects.
Preferred Experience:
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with diverse groups of stakeholders, including business and technical colleagues from various areas and in various roles within the company, across multiple cultures and regions, facilitating effective collaboration in diverse environments.
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information/Data Science, Information Systems, or STEM field or equivalent.
