They will bring expertise which will enable our colleagues to use data more effectively when making decisions, provide greater understanding of our audiences and utilize new technologies focusing on the use of Machine Learning, AI and other analytical techniques.This is a greenfield, hands-on role where you will have a real opportunity to shape the data strategy of UKTV and our ways of working across a range of different business areas. This is likely to involve collaboration with the Data Science team at BBC Studios and the teams responsible for maintaining and developing the BBC Studios Data Platform.Lead, develop and motivate a small team dedicated to applying data science at UKTV.Anything else we feel we should tell/know you about the role/teamThis role leads one of two functions within the Data team, where you will work alongside the Lead Data Analyst (and draw significant input from the Insight team). The leads will collaborate to ensure alignment of how to use and interpret data & analysis in order to provide a holistic view of UKTV’s audiences.There will be some crossover in projects where there will be a need to draw on different areas’ specialisms. It will require strong working relationships, constant communication, and awareness of activity across the entire Insight, Data, and Strategy function as well as in other teams.You will spend a large proportion of your time problem solving and dealing with complex requests where no precedent is set.
