Xpertise has partnered with one of the UK's largest firms, which is undergoing a huge data transformation journey. We need a hands-on Technical Lead to lead a team of engineers and work closely with the analytics and business teams to ensure seamless data flow across the organisation. This is a strategic leadership role with hands-on responsibilities, allowing you to shape the future of our data landscape.

Key details:

Location:Remote-based with offices in London

Salary:TBC but likely £75,000-90,000 + bonus

Future Outlook:The team will be expanding, so we're looking for a lead/principal to step up to the Head of Data Engineering position. Although, we would happily speak to people already operating at that level. Whether you'd like to stay hands-on or progress into management/strategic psotions, we're open. In the long term, there will be vertical and horizontal opportunities, such as hands-off and management, architecture, data science, and AI.

Key experience desired / what you will learn:

  • Azure
  • Lead the Data Engineering Function: Oversee and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and growth.
  • Design & build data pipelines
  • Data Warehousing
  • Azure and Databricks environments.
  • Python and/or SQL, Spark.
  • Power BI
  • Power Apps, Power Platform, Dataverse
  • Terraform

Role Overview:

As the Lead/Head of Data Engineering, you will lead the design and development of scalable data pipelines and architect robust data warehousing solutions, driving the cloud-based data infrastructure with a focus on Azure and Databricks. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative data solutions while mentoring and growing a high-performing engineering team.
